CHURCH/THEOLOGY

What sort of church are you/what denomination are you?

We don't align to a particular denomination, however our sermons and studies are bible-based and Christ-centred.

Can you give a summary of what you believe?

In a nutshell, we believe in Scripture alone as our authority for faith and life, that we are saved by grace alone through faith alone, because of the life and work of Christ alone, for the glory of God alone.  We also believe God commands all Christians to be baptised through full water immersion as an outward sign of their faith and obedience to Him.

Who attends your church, and who is welcome?

Absolutely anyone and everyone is welcome! We'd love to see you at our church: whether you're a visitor, just dropping in; or if you're actively seeking a church community to belong to and get involved with. Our church family is so diverse and includes many families with babies/young children, middle-senior couples, and a growing number of young adults.

Do you practise any rituals such as christening, baptism, communion, or communal prayer?

We don't christen or baptise infants/children, as we believe baptism is an outward, public demonstration made by a person who has chosen to trust in Jesus as their Lord and Saviour; this is a decision they must make themselves. We do, however, have dedications - a small service centred around celebrating a baby/child, and the parent's and church's solemn commitment to raise that child in godly instruction and love.

Communion and congregational prayer are also a regular part of our services; the former is carried out once a fortnight, and we have a time of prayer during every service. Baptisms are organised in correspondence with our pastor, and are usually held at Wellington Point Beach.

What facilities do you have at your church (i.e., parking, disabled access, toilets)?

church life - ministries - services

What does a typical service entail?

During school-term, a typical Sunday service might look something like this:

8AM - 9AM - those who help to set up the chairs, sound, projection, tables and morning tea begin to arrive. Doors are open, and people usually grab a cup of tea/coffee and have a chat before Sunday School.

9AM - 10:30AM - Church Service. Announcements are shared with the church (any relevant news or updates), we then begin our time of worship with the reading of a bible verse (call to worship), followed by a couple of songs, communal prayer, communion (every fortnight), and a song of praise before the sermon. We close our service in worship and prayer also.

10:30AM Morning tea time. Everyone is invited to enjoy a hot cup of tea/coffee, morning pick-me-up snacks and wonderful conversation.

How many members attend your church?

We are a small but growing church with approximately 60-70 members. We regularly have new visitors, as well as travelling missionaries from time to time.

CHURCH LUNCH

On the 4th Sunday of every month, we follow our service with a lunch, held in the church building (main hall). Newcomers/guests are of course welcome and need not worry about bringing food; we invite you to enjoy a free lunch with us!
